POST WWI WAR VETERANS

This ongoing project is based around hand plaques and body part casts of serving and retired members of the British Military who served in post-WWI conflicts.

The collaborators, including Paralympian Gold medallist, Jon-Allan Butterworth MBE, and Para-Snowsport skier, John Kirk MBE, have ranged in age from 27-92 years at the time of casting. The narrative imagery is chosen by the individual models and is based on Military identity and experiences.

The artist, sister of a retired RAMC Officer, aims at creating a physical reminder of continual conflict and service.
Accompanying drawings reference the ways in which the British public remember wars –through  photography, archival film as well as the motion picture industry.
