GARDEN SCULPTURE
Sculpture is the art of light and form. The clarity of daylight and external spaces gives individual pieces a different emphasis as the work is affected by changing light and the colours and forms of surrounding vegetation.
Louise Giblin is currently working on a series of pieces specifically created with the external world in mind and strongly influenced by the positive and restorative power of natural spaces, creating and growing beautiful forms.
Like other breastplate pieces, 'La Vie En Rose' (centre) is a more single view piece than the fully 3-dimensional works. The idea is for the sculpture to be placed in an area to draw the viewer's eye to a garden's visual composition; you can see light and movement through it to consider its surroundings and what lies beyond.
